As a gamer myself, I understand your frustration and will do everything in my power to resolve this issue for you.

Programs that are not designed around the multi-core processor will, from time to time, actually see a decrease in performance. In some cases, multiple processors can actually cause crashing or a failure for a game to launch at all. Dead Space 2 is one such instance where the quad core processor will cause crashing. Please set the game"s affinity to run on just 2 cores.

How to set affinity (the game will need to be launched to perform these steps):

1. Open the task manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL at the same time and clicking the Task Manager button.
2. In the Task Manager, click the tab labeled, Processes.
3. Right-click on the process corresponding to the game
4. Scroll down the menu to the Set Affinity option and select it.
5. Remove the check mark from all but the first two processes, thus allowing only those two processes to be used for this application/game.
6. Click OK when only the CPU 0 and CPU 1 are selected and Affinity is now set.

You should now be able to run your game without further issue.
